With no plans on my calendar today I ventured out to explore the neighborhood.
This cow is chained up for grazing so that it doesn't wander off. As you can see it can easily get into the road. This is a heavily traveled main road around the island.
The village of Lodge is located in a gaught (gut) which is a steep valley that handles run off water from the mountain to the ocean. My apartment is at the top of this valley in the village of Molineaux about a 1/4 mile away.
Just up the street is what appears to be an old abandoned church. It's not. It is just shuttered during the times it's not in use.
In the distance on the north end of the island you can see the island of Eustacius.
Closer up. The island of Eustacius has a massive white cliff side. From the air you can see a large number of fuel tanks and many oil tankers waiting to transfer fuel for this end of the Caribbean.
Selfie at Romney Manor. Caribelle Batik is located here. While the island has had a dry spell lately, Romney Manor is at the edge of the rain forest and the vegetation is lush.
The Shipwreck Bar located in middle of southern part of the island. Bar/restaurant and beach with cabanas.
The Salt Pond, which also serves as a harbor.
This way to Reggae Beach Bar.

Look carefully for the 3 monkeys in this picture. They are hanging around the parking lot of the Shipwreck Bar.

The bar is adjacent to the beach with cabanas. A number of boats were anchored here. Lunch today was coconut shrimp, washed down with a Carib Beer. Was very good.
Around the restaurant were several flags and t-shirts nailed up. Could not help noticing the MSU flag. It had a gob of signatures on it from alumni that had visited the bar. There was a lonely UofM T-shirt hanging in a remote corner of the bar. It was a sad little shirt.
A view of Nevis which looked close enough to swim to.
This is the sea bridge to Nevis were the car ferries load/unload several times each day.
A hull wreck nearby.
Looking northward from the southern peninsula of St. Kitts.
I think we will live here.
Halfmoon Bay.
A view from Fort Tyson Rise onto the Caribbean Sea.
These sightings are always amusing (and frequent).
